In 1858 the Ducourt family created its first estate with a few hectares of vines in Ladaux, a small village southwest of Bordeaux. Today the Ducourts own one of the largest independent vineyards in the region with 440 hectares of vines spread over 13 châteaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers and Saint-Emilion appellations. These estates produce 2.5 million bottles a year. Four of the châteaux are represented by Planet Wine.
The Ducourt Réserve de Famille is composed of grapes tended to in their own vineyards. Vines are grown in limestone and clay soils, run in Guyot manner with respect to sustainable agriculture.
The fruit is cold macerated and then fermented in stainless steel thermoregulated tanks. The wine is then aged in 30% Oak Barrels, and 70% stainless steel tanks.
The wine is of dark ruby color, with an intense nose of cherry and raspberry. The mouth opens with herbal notes and subtle minerality. The wine is well balanced with soft tannins and an elegant oak finish.
Perfect for your next BBQ or Fondue party.
